I had a vision. Clean lines. Luxe fabrics. Gorgeous architecture. I wanted to use this styled engagement session as a way to show my clients how tailored and sophisticated their engagement session could look. Now all I needed was a couple to volunteer their time (and faces) to make this vision a reality. Cue Audrey & Cole! They were kind enough to meet up with me one Sunday morning to create this absolute magic!
As a photographer, it’s so important to make sure that you’re creating outside of your usual business. That’s why styled shoots can be so helpful! There’s no pressure to capture anything specific and, for me, it often serves as a creative reset that I can use to re-energize my work!
My other goal for this session was to be able to practice incorporating film into my sessions. The authenticity and the way that film renders light is so etherial and visceral that when I see it, I can feel it tugging on my heart strings. I used my Mamiya 645 1000s (made in 1973), Kodak Portra 400 and 800 to bring these images to life. I hope you’ll feel as connected to these images as I do!
