Elizabeth & Lawson’s stunning and intimate Lake Martin wedding was plan b. They were supposed to have a huge celebration where they met at Sewanee : The University of the South, but as so many other couples have experienced, COVID-19 derailed their plans.
It is genuinely hard for me to mourn their would-be wedding day because their lakefront celebration was just about as perfect as a wedding day gets! Everything was so simple, yet impeccably done. From Elizabeth’s gorgeous Anne Barge dress to the delicious 4-course meal we enjoyed by Jennie Weller, this photographer couldn’t have dreamt of a better day.
At the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, a compilation video of well wishes from Elizabeth & Lawson’s closest friends and family who weren’t able to be there with them really gave me an insight into how special these people are. Lawson’s father said that they were really hoping that just a few people would submit video contributions for them to share, but they weren’t expecting nearly 45 minutes of footage! That is truly just one of the examples of how well-loved and treasured Elizabeth & Lawson are in their friends’ lives.
It is truly a privilege to document wedding days. I will not forget this perfect day any time soon.
